In the world of construction and design, there are few things as rewarding as being able to repurpose and transform natural materials into beautiful, custom pieces that bring warmth and character to a home. The recent build project that we undertook involved the removal of several hardwood trees, presenting us with a unique opportunity to oversee a Tree to Table project from start to finish.
We had the privilege of witnessing the entire process of harnessing the potential of these trees and turning them into stunning pieces of furniture. Our first step was to carefully process the material specific to each piece of furniture we envisioned for this project. This involved identifying various components of the hardwood, such as cookies, live edge slabs, and dimensional lumber, and then crafting them into unique and functional pieces that would complement the new home.
From intricate coffee tables made from live edge slabs to sturdy dining room tables formed from dimensional lumber, each piece was meticulously designed to showcase the natural beauty and individuality of the wood. The rich grain patterns and the unique shapes of the hardwood components added an organic and timeless appeal to every piece of furniture created.
A cookie slice pieced together and stabilized by creating a large epoxy mold and set on a custom steel base for an eye catching coffee table.
Through skilled craftsmanship and a deep respect for the natural materials, we were able to craft a large collection of custom pieces to furnish this new home. The result was a seamless integration of the natural world into the built environment, creating an inviting and harmonious space for the homeowners to enjoy for years to come.
